6. Create a DIY seed tape

Supplies: seeds, paper towels, and spray bottle water.
Making Cost: $15*
You could get seed tape on Amazon for $10 to $15, but why spend that much money when you could make it yourself at home? A practical approach to swiftly and cleanly planting a large number of seeds, like carrots, is with seed tape.

Create Your Own Seed Tape on Pinterest or @babem
Roll out toilet paper and lightly sprinkle it with water (use a spray bottle to prevent wetting the fragile paper) to make your own. Arrange your seeds in a row on the paper, making sure they are spaced out appropriately. To make the toilet paper stick, fold one-third of the paper over the seeds and spritz it with water. After folding the remaining third, mist once more. Until you're ready to plant, you can roll this seed tape back onto the toilet paper tube.
