29.The Dog’s Curiosity

In a gesture he hoped would be calming, Addison signaled to the Labrador and gently removed the blanket covering the small animal. The dog, intrigued, immediately approached the package, displaying a curiosity that seemed harmless. Addison felt reassured by the thought that the Labrador wasn’t in danger from what he believed to be a simple puppy.
However, as the blanket slipped away, revealing the contents of the package, Addison was struck by a wave of concern. The change in the car’s atmosphere was instant and palpable. What had been innocent curiosity moments earlier transformed into a far more instinctive reaction. The Labrador’s body language shifted abruptly: its body stiffened, its posture became more rigid, and a subtle but worrying tension filled the air. Addison, with his experience, immediately recognized these warning signs. But it was already too late. He realized with a mix of regret and fear that he had completely misinterpreted the situation.
