13.Walking Distance

Addison improvised a makeshift shelter using his travel bag, estimating that carrying the puppy directly would be too risky, even though the destination was two hours away on foot. This ingenious solution demonstrated his quick thinking and practical knowledge of animal rescue. He carefully placed the bag, creating a dark and secure space intended to calm the animal during the journey.
However, the trip was not without challenges. Addison had to maintain an adequate temperature, ensure sufficient ventilation, and minimize the animal’s discomfort. These concerns also reflected his growing doubts about the creature’s true nature. To provide extra protection, he used his jacket as padding inside the bag, reducing possible jolts during the walk.
The temporary setup had to be sturdy enough to prevent any escape while allowing good airflow. As he worked on the shelter, Addison observed the animal’s behavior closely. It differed noticeably from that of domestic dogs he had rescued before, further deepening his uncertainty.
