Initially bred for the brutal sport of bull-baiting, Bulldogs developed strong jaws and stocky frames. After bull-baiting was outlawed in England, the breed became a beloved companion. Bulldogs have a lifespan of 8 to 10 years. While friendly and humorous, they can be stubborn, making training a challenge. They are also prone to obesity, so monitoring their diet is crucial. Due to common health issues, purchasing pet insurance is highly recommended.
