Though we have only heard tales of Pegasus from folklore and epic accounts, did any photographer ever hope to photograph one of these mythological creatures? Well, life functions in enigmatic and frequently synchronized geometric ways. When Indian wildlife photographer Jagdeep Rajput managed to take a picture of a live pegasus, he was in complete disbelief.

Even though the image appears to be an optical illusion created by a sarus crane flying just behind a blue bull, Rajput was recognized for it and received a slot in the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards in 2022.
