As with the world of animals, a photograph can be deceiving. Jean-Jacques Alcalay took the aptly named "Misleading African Viewpoints 2," an award-winning photograph, in Africa. The first thing that comes to mind while looking at it is that the hippo is trying to swallow an innocent spectator heron.

To fully grasp the significance of this image, however, some background is necessary. The hippo is simply resting on the back of another hippo to take in his surroundings and is simply dozing off. You shouldn't judge a hippo by its mouth or a book by its cover.
