Staying alert
As cities grow and expand worldwide, it becomes harder for animals to find natural shelters. If you see an animal out of its natural habitat, it is essential to contact professionals for help.
This is what happened recently when trapped animals were found under a shallow storm grate. Although the grate was not very deep, the animals could not escape. The firefighters, alerted to the situation, first thought they were small trapped animals. But after hearing their cries, they quickly realized they were babies. Once rescued from the drain, the little ones were taken to the Woodland Park veterinary clinic. At the clinic, young animals like fox kits are cared for until they are strong enough to return to the wild. While people often think a lone young animal is always in distress, that is not always the case. But in situations like this, quick and proper intervention can make all the difference.
