There are communities known as "sea gipsies" who live almost entirely on water, spending their lives on boats and rafts. These groups, found in the coastal regions of Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, rarely set foot on land except to gather fresh water and supplies. Although they are not related to the Roma gipsies, their seafaring lifestyle, independence, and adaptability echo the adventurous spirit of nomadic peoples everywhere.
