8. Brussels Griffon

The Brussels Griffon’s expressive face is instantly lovable. These rare dogs nearly disappeared during the world wars but have survived thanks to dedicated breeders. They are highly social and dislike being left alone for long periods. Originally bred to hunt rats in Belgian stables, they are now cherished companions. Their coats can be rough or smooth and come in four colors: red, black, black and tan, and beige. Their human-like expressions and distinctive beards make them easy to spot. Despite their small size, they are confident and full of personality. They form strong bonds with their owners and may suffer from separation anxiety if left alone too much.
