3. Komondor

The Komondor, also called the Hungarian sheepdog, is unforgettable thanks to its large size and striking corded coat. These heavy dogs can weigh over one hundred pounds, but they are surprisingly agile. Komondors were originally bred to guard sheep in Hungary and are famous for their strength and protective instincts. Their unique coat forms natural cords, giving them a dreadlock-like look that protects them from harsh weather and predators. Despite their size, Komondors are gentle with their families and very patient. Their coat requires special grooming to keep it clean and healthy. They are intelligent but can be independent, so they need consistent training from experienced owners.
