2. Millau viaduct bridge, France

Soaring above the Tarn River valley, the Millau Viaduct is an engineering masterpiece and a symbol of modern France. At 1,125 feet above the valley floor, it is the tallest bridge in the world, its slender pylons reaching into the clouds. The view from the bridge is nothing short of spectacular, but for those with a fear of heights, crossing it can be a true test of nerves. The sensation of gliding high above the landscape, with only a slim road beneath you and open sky all around, is both thrilling and daunting.
