19. Catalburun

The Catalburun, a rare Turkish Pointer, is known for its split nose, a unique feature among dogs. This trait affects their sense of smell but does not stop them from being excellent hunters. Catalburuns are celebrated in Turkey but little known elsewhere. They stand 20 to 24 inches tall and weigh 45 to 65 pounds. Used for hunting for generations, their short coat is liver and white and easy to care for. These dogs are energetic and need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Their strong hunting instincts make them a challenge for inexperienced owners.
